Sinatra explored a number of acting roles in addition to his singing career. In the early 1940s, he attempted to launch a Hollywood acting career.
He had a series of affairs while married, including one with actress Ava Gardner. Following that, he married Gardner for eight years, from 1951 to 1957, before divorcing her formally in 1953.
Sinatra died on May 14, 1998, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, after suffering another major heart attack.
