CNN and Nokia announced a multi-level international collaboration where Nokia becomes a key part of CNN’s roster of mapping providers, delivering its rich mapping services to the international news network.

Technology leader Nokia and Microsoft announced plans to build a broad strategic partnership to create smart phones. Nokia would use Windows Phone as the software platform for its smartphones strategy.

Tata Teleservices Ltd (TTSL) is India’s first privately owned mobile operator to sign a deal securing its 3G telecoms supplier. It has selected Nokia Siemens Networks technology and expertise to support the launch of 3G. The network, based on WCDMA 3G and including HSPA+, will allow TTSL to offer high-quality mobile broadband providing fast Internet browsing and better quality voice calls.

Nokia customers now can download unlimited music on their handsets or personal computer with the handset manufacturer announced the launch of Ovi Music Unlimited (OMU) services in India. Consumers, who buy Nokia Ovi Music Unlimited-enabled device, can download millions of tracks for free, direct on their mobile phone or PC from the Ovi Music Store for 12 months.

Nokia India officially launched smartphone C3 with full qwerty keypad and mobile e-mail service besides access to social networking services at Rs 5,318 apparently kicking off a price war in the segment among the handset makers in the country.
