Mahindra & Mahindra, a part of the US $ 14.4 billion group, announced at the Delhi Auto Expo that it would launch SsangYong Rexton, Mahindra Reva NXR, the electric car, and a compact SUV before the festive season this year. Mahinda also announced the launch of Maxximo Passenger Van to debut in Q1 of next financial year and a sub 4-metre Verito in the last quarter of FY 13.

The four new SsangYong vehicles namely – the Rexton, the Korando E, Actyon Sports and the XIV-1 Concept – were unveiled by Dr Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. & Chairman, SsangYong Motor Company and Mr. Yoo-Il Lee, President, SsangYong Motor Company.

Mahindra & Mahindra announced the launch of the Genio, its next generation Pick Up for global markets. The 1.2 tonne pick-up has been developed to cater to the evolved needs of the small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) and businessmen.

Mahindra & Mahindra launched its sedan Verito in Kerala, priced at Rs 4.82 lakh (petrol) & 5.62 lakh (diesel) for BS3 version pan India. The new Verito retains the famed strengths of the Logan, while adding a new style with some key changes.

The Farm Equipment Sector of Mahindra & Mahindra announced that it would soon open a new tractor plant in Zaheerabad, Andhra Pradesh. Mahindra Group is investing Rs 300 crore in the new plant and once the plant is operationalised, the installed capacity will be 100,000 tractors per year and production is expected to commence in 2012.

Mahindra & Mahindra announced the launch of the Gio Compact Cab, its next generation passenger cab, in Chandigarh. India’s most affordable 4-wheeler cab has been developed to change the face of intra-city stage and contract carriage travel in India.

Mahindra 2 Wheelers develops its motorcycles incorporating design elements from the Bologna-based Engines Engineering, a boutique design house which Mahindra Group had acquired in 2008, says the company. In addition to Mahindra 2 Wheelers, Engines Engineering also undertakes design work for companies such as Ducati, MV Augusta and Benelli.
