Jaguar Land Rover opens new vehicle assembly plant in Pune

Tata Motors’ Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) officially opened its new plant in Pune. JLR will roll out the Land Rover Freelander 2 from its first assembly plant in India at much lower investments. The facility at Pune will assemble Land Rover Freelander 2 vehicles supplied in Complete Knock Down (CKD) form from Jaguar Land Rover’s Halewood manufacturing plant in Liverpool, UK.

Tata Motors’ luxury car arm, Jaguar Land Rover, will begin the production of C-X75, an exclusive hybrid supercar. Priced from about $1.2 million (approximately Rs 5.28 crore), Jaguar C-X75 will touches the 0-60mph mark in less than 3 seconds and has top speed in excess of 200mph, says the company. Jaguar expects this hybrid supercar to deliver incredibly low CO2 emissions of less than 99g/km.

Jaguar will launch its most potent series production car ever, the all-new XKR-S, at the Geneva motorshow on March 1. The XKR-S produces 550PS and 680Nm of torque, enough power to offer a top speed of 186mph (300km/h). Its performance credentials speak for themselves: 0-60mph takes 4.2 seconds, with 0-100mph dismissed in just 8.6 seconds.

Jaguar launches new Diesel XF in India

Jaguar launched the all new Diesel XF in India for about Rs 48.37 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) after the successful launch of the highly acclaimed 5.0L petrol XF and the supercharged XFR in 2009. The new diesel XF is available in India in the Premium Luxury derivative.
