Ford Figo set to drive into new international markets on first anniversary

India’s most awarded car ever, Ford Figo, which was instrumental in helping Ford India record a spectacular 188 per cent sales growth in February 2011, will set to start its voyage to the international markets with Ford India plans to export India’s popular hatchback car to Mexico and more than 50 other markets across the globe this year, said the company.

Ford Figo reaches 25,000 sales booking mark in 100 days

The sales booking of Ford Figo has crossed 25,000 mark in 100 days after the hatchback car was in March in India proving that it is one of the country’s much-demanded compact cars. Targeting more than 70% of the country’s prospective new vehicle buyers, Figo has helped drive growth in all markets (tier I, II and III) across India, stated the company.

Ford rolls out Figo at Rs 3.49 lakh

The Ford Figo, which was launched in India in March, priced at Rs 3.49 lakh, is a compact hatchback car and certainly will be a strong rival to the same-segment cars like Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai i20 and VW Polo in matters of multifarious factors including price and features. New Ford Figo will be avilable in both petrol and diesel variants.

New Ford Figo car production capacity is up to 200,000 units annually – doubling vehicle production at the facility. The new Ford Figo will be equipped with a standard 1.2L petrol engine developed exclusively for the India market. Four cylinder Diesel and Petrol engines in varying displacements up to 1.6 litres also will be produced for export at the Chennai facility.
