Salman Khan in Veer Movie

It took Salman Khan many years to create an epic like Veer. I can understand each of my books has taken years to bring them to perfection. Kudos to him for a great job.

The movie ‘Veer’ overall leaves a nice impression – the look, actors, story, sets, acting, the location does it justice. No one in the entire film history has ever though of doing a story on the Pindaris. The setting in the harsh desert and the colorful costumes with the camaraderie of the Pindari men with each other sets the movie apart.

Many have not like it cause its history based, too long and acting wise too, but critics are critics they just love to bring a person down when he or she have put in the perfect best for a particular thing that they love most – like the movie Veer was for Salman.

The story has been put together well and for the first time I never looked at my watch and never realized that three hours had gone, until I saw the credits. Hey the only thing I felt out of place was Zarine Khan wearing spectacles – it did not suit her, they could have done without it. And Salman is right she does not look like Katrina, and not once in the movie does she allow you to remember her. Salman has got her to do a good job. I do love the well-timed comic relief by Sohail and Salman’s dialogues and action sequences. Mithun, Neena, Jackie and Purru and other actors are well placed except for Aryan – he was definitely not needed and seemed out of place.

The music by Sajid Wajid and words by Gulzar was sheer poetry. The action was cool, the costumes excellent. Love the entire movie, will see it soon – again or buy a copy of the VCD for my collection as usual historical movies find a place on my shelf, so I can see it whenever I want to.

(Sorry but this is not a copy of Kranti – for heaven sakes that movie was Manoj Kumar fighting against British with sequence on the high seas and there was no desert, yes there was a princess. I never did like Hema Malini in that flick)
