Samsung India announced the launch of the full-touch slider phone, Samsung Ultratouch in the Indian market. Samsung Ultratouch , the world’s first 8MP Camera phone with AMOLED screen, re-defines perfectionism in style, design and technology – now with full touch.

Priced at Rs 27,500, Samsung Ultratouch is an elegant full-touch mobile, boasting revolutionary touch screen technology, sophisticated design and comes packed with multimedia features. Centre stage is the 7.1 cm AMOLED anti-scratch full touch screen, which offers astonishingly bright and vivid colours. The ultra-slim 12.7mm body of UltraTOUCH unites perfect form and function with full-touch screen and additional 3×4 keypad slider. With a brushed metal frame for durability and an anti-scratch, anti-smudge screen, users can keep their phone in great condition.

Samsung Ultratouch comes with an embedded 8 mega pixel camera with dual power LED flash and smile shot mode. Samsung Ultratouch is also powered with 3G capability (HSDPA 7.2 Mbps), offering speedy internet access, video telephony, video streaming and a host of other benefits that 3G services have to offer for Indian consumers. It also comes with DivX video player support for an enhanced multimedia experience from the phone.

Samsung Ultratouch provides the best ever full-touch user experience and universal 3×4 keypads together. Users will enjoy being able to control the mobile easily and intuitively – flicking through photos, navigating through maps and surfing the web have never been easier and more interactive thanks to the upgraded TouchWiz user interface.

Samsung Ultratouch has Mobile widgets that can be dragged from the menu bar and placed anywhere on the screen for one-click access to favourite applications like Music Player, FM, Games, Calendar etc. The slide-out tactile 3×4 keypad in the Samsung Ultratouch offers a tangible alternative behind the attractive touch screen, creating endless customization opportunities.

With the launch of the Samsung Ultratouch , Samsung now has a portfolio comprising of four touch screen phones in the Indian market: the other three being the recently introduced Samsung Pixon, India’s First 8 MP Full touch screen handset; Samsung OMNIA (i900) and Samsung TouchWiz (F480), both having 5 mega pixel camera resolutions. The entire portfolio of Samsung touch screen phones is 3G enabled. “We have a wide portfolio of 3G handsets including our touch screen phones, to help the Indian consumer experience the full benefit of 3G services in India. Some of our 3G handsets, in fact, are being manufactured at our state-of-the-art facility in Noida,” states Mr. Shin.

“The Samsung touch screen phones are designed to deliver the full benefits of 3G – Large screen for enhanced data and video downloads, interactive user interface, multimedia features and good memory. We are currently giving a special bundling offer for BSNL consumers on our select handsets in order to allow them to experience the full benefit of 3G services,” states Mr. Sunil Dutt, Country Head, Samsung Telecom Division. The special offer on Samsung phones – F480, L700 J800 and S7330 in BSNL circles entails free Sim Card, free airtime and free data downloads for pre paid and post paid customers.

“We will be further strengthening our touch screen portfolio in the coming months with more innovative launches. Based on the enhancement of our touch screen and multimedia phone portfolio, we are looking at the multimedia phone contribution to be 40-45% of our total sales by the end of the Year,” states Mr. Dutt. The Samsung touch screen portfolio is priced in the range between Rs. 17,790/- to Rs. 32,200/-, while the Samsung Mobile handset range comprising of over 50 handset models is priced in the range between Rs. 1649/- to Rs. 34,500/-
