Bharti Airtel launches Airtel World SIM for international travelers
With the beginning of travel season, Bharti Airtel announced the launch of Airtel World SIM for international travelers facilitating the outbound travelers to retain their local number. Accordingly, calls made on Airtel India number are forwarded on the new Airtel World SIM. With the introduction of this facility, customers can save up to 85 percent on international calls.
Airtel World SIM also offers a single mobile number valid across 190 countries – international travelers spared of the inconvenience of carrying multiple SIMs for different countries. It will be initially available to Airtel customers in Delhi, followed by the rest of the country.
Shireesh Joshi, Director-Marketing, Mobile Services, Bharti Airtel, said during the launch of the new offer that the Airtel World SIM had been created following in-depth research and customer feedback. He said that over 10 million Indians travelled abroad annually and they were looking for a calling product that provided them flexibility and convenience at competitive prices. The Airtel World SIM allows travellers to retain access to incoming calls on their India number, their local-SIM contacts and seamless connectivity in 190 countries. All this at tariffs that are a fraction of international roaming rates, offering savings up to 85%.
