Mukesh Ambani owned Reliance Industries announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire a substantial stake in Infotel Broadband Services (P) Ltd, which has emerged as a successful bidder in all the 22 circles of the auction for Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) Spectrum conducted by the DoT.RIL will invest about Rs 4,800 crore by way of subscription to fresh equity capital at par to be issued by Infotel Broadband. Post this investment, RIL will own 95% of the equity and Infotel Broadband will be a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited.

MTS has now completed its network roll out in the telecom circle of Maharashtra and Goa, offering both voice and data services. MTS had its high speed data service, MBlaze, operational in Goa from January 2010. MBlaze mobile broadband service is already available in the cities of Panjim, across Goa, Kolhapur, Sangli, Solapur, Pune, Nagpur, Amravati, Jalgaon, Aurangabad, Ahmednagar and Nasik. MTS special offer of 1 paisa for 2 seconds for all local calls in Mumbai, Maharashtra & Goa and MTS to MTS local calls at 1 paisa for 4 seconds.

Reliance Webstore and Coolpad launches India’s cheapest touchscreen CDMA phone

Reliance Webstore and Coolpad Communications has commenced the market roll-out of India’s cheapest touchscreen CDMA phone, S100, across the country. The handset would be distributing as well as retailing through Reliance World stores across 100 top Indian cities. Coolpad S100 will be offered in the sub-4500 price-point, making it nearly 30% cheaper than similar touchscreen phones in the market.

MTS launched its voice services in the city of Pune covering the western Maharashtra. MBlaze service will now be available in the regional towns of Solapur, Kolhapur, Sangli, Jalgoan and Ahmdnagar and a total of 17 cities in the State. MTS also made an inaugural promotional offer of half a paisa per second call charges.
