Toyota launches redesigned ‘Vitz’

Since the launch of the first-generation in 1999, Toyota Motors unveiled its redesigned compact hatchback ‘Vitz’ at a press preview in Tokyo on Wednesday by Toyota president Akio Toyoda. The new Vitz, which will retail at $12,700 (Rs 5.7 lakh) in Japan.

Honda BRIO to be launched in India in 2011

Honda is planning to launch its newly developed compact car, BRIO, for Asian markets in India and Thailand in 2011. Honda conducted the world premiere of a prototype of BRIO at the Thailand International Motor Expo.

Nissan LEAF debuts in Japan, to hit world market by 2012

Nissan Motor announced the launch of the all-new 100% electric, zero-emission Nissan LEAF. Nissan LEAF will go on sale on December 20 in Japan followed by the United States, also December, and in select European markets in early 2011. Release in other global markets is set for 2012.

Honda unveils Honda Fit EV Concept Electric Vehicle and Plug-in Hybrid Platform at Los Angeles Auto Show

Honda unveiled the all-new Fit EV Concept electric vehicle and the platform for a midsize plug-in hybrid vehicle during the Los Angeles Show being held on November 19-28, 2010. The Fit EV Concept hints strongly at the direction and styling for Honda’s upcoming production Fit EV all-electric vehicle, which will be introduced to the U.S. and Japan in 2012.

Honda launches V4 Crosstourer Concept

Honda has revealed the V4 Crosstourer Concept, the world’s first V4 Adventure Tourer motorcycle at EICMA 2010, an International Bicycle and Motorcycle Exhibition in Milan, Italy. Together with 800cc Crossrunner also revealed at EICMA, the V4 Crosstourer concept expands Honda’s state-of-the-art V4 model line-up.

Nissan launches sketch of new Global Sedan

Nissan Motor launches the sketch of its “New Global Sedan”.It is the second product after the Nissan Micra to be built on Nissan’s versatile ‘V’ platform. The “New Global Sedan” will have its premiere at the 8th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition in December 2010. To be launched first in China, the model will be launched in India in the second half of 2011 and will be manufactured at the company’s plant at Oragadam, near Chennai.

LeasePlan and Japan’s auto firm Nissan signed an agreement to cooperate in an European-wide project to launch the 100% electric Nissan LEAF in 2011. LeasePlan is the first leasing company to offer the Nissan LEAF in Europe, said Nissan. The car will be mass-marketed globally from 2012 onwards.
