Suzuki Kizashi, the much-anticipated D-segment car, is all set to make its India debut at the Auto Expo 2010, beginning on 5th January, 2010 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.  It must be recalled that the concept version of the Suzuki Kizashi was displayed during Auto Expo 2008. However, this time an actual production model from the US has been exclusively imported for the event.

Suzuki has designed Kizashi, the high end car that would give its owner a sense a pride or `status’. The idea is to create a large car so that Suzuki customers aspiring for bigger cars remain within the fold.

Kizashi is powered by a 2.4-litre VVT petrol engine equipped with Continuously Variable Transmission or six-speed manual transmission. The engine delivers a huge peak output of 131kW @ 6,500rpm.

Kizashi has an exceptionally rigid steel uni-body and reinforced MacPherson-strut front suspension. Further, the Kizashi is engineered to accommodate all-wheel drive; customers can choose a newly developed i-AWD system that evokes driving enthusiasm while promoting control. All-round disc brakes that include 16-inch ventilated front discs deliver confidence-inspiring stopping power.

Suzuki Kizashi has also got an outstanding range of safety technologies. Standard active-safety equipment includes an anti-lock braking system, electronic braking-force distribution, and an ESP with traction control that heightens driver confidence by promoting stability during cornering maneuvers, acceleration, and emergency maneuvers and on slippery roads.

Passive-safety features include a light, energy-absorbing body in which structures that absorb and disperse impact energy are combined with a deformation-resisting cabin in line with Suzuki’s proprietary Total Effective Control Technology (TECT) concept. The front seatbelts have pre-tensioners and force limiters. Further protection is afforded by the presence of six to eight airbags.
