Mercedes-Benz launches GL-Class SUV

Mercedes-Benz India launched the most premium SUV in Indian market- the New GL 350 CDI BlueEfficiency. This seven-seater premium SUV offers excellent handling both on and off-road and pampers occupants with its extremely spacious accommodation and a host of luxury fitments, said a press release issued by the company.

Price of Mercedes-Benz GL-Class variants
The Mercedes-Benz GL has two variants: GL- Executive and GL-Luxury. The Mercedes-Benz GL- Executive has a price tag of Rs 63.57 lakhs and the GL-Luxury is priced at Rs 68.48 lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai).

Engine
Powered by a three-liter V6 diesel powerplant, the GL 350CDI BlueEfficiency delivers overwhelming performance: 510 Nm torque and offers an output of 165kW. Also, the muscular styling of SUV ensures plenty of power and torque. The GL 350 CDI accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds, reaches a top speed of 210 km/h and consumes a mere 9.7 l per 100 km.

Safety lines of Mercedes-Benz GL-Class
The Mercedes-Benz GL-Class has given optimum attention to safety aspects. PRE-SAFE utilises the sensors in the dynamic handling control systems and optimises the protective function of the passive safety components in potential accident situations. Also, crash-responsive head restraints for driver and front passenger support reduce the risk of injury.

4MATIC – the permanent four-wheel drive from Mercedes-Benz – provides the GL-Class with superior handling whatever the conditions. Together with the standard-fit AIRMATIC air suspension, the precise speed-sensitive power steering and the ADS Adaptive Damper System also fitted as standard, the imposing GL-Class (wheelbase 3075 mm) handles impressively. Special off-road features such as Downhill Speed Regulation (DSR), hill-start assist and off-road ABS assist the GL-Class driver off road.

The features of GL 350CDI BlueEfficiency are: an off-road pro-engineering package, 7 G-TRONIC gearbox, 4Matic Permanent all-wheel drive, electrically folding third row of seats and panoramic sunroof. The off-road pro-engineering package, standard on all ECE models, enables the GL-Class to deal with any extreme off-road terrain. The modified AIRMATIC air suspension, designed specifically for demanding conditions, increases the ground clearance to a maximum of 307 millimetres where required, and raises the fording depth to 600 millimetres. The sunroof over the third-row seats, which is equipped with a sunblind, enhances the sense of spaciousness. The GL-Class also has features like COMAND APS with integrated 6–disc DVD changer and reversing camera and also comes with Rear seat entertainment system and infrared headphones from Mercedes-Benz accessories.

The Mercedes-Benz GL-Class offers generous headroom and legroom, even in the third row. Easy access is assured due to the high roof edge and large door opening angle of up to 64°. The two individual third-row seats offer plenty of room in all directions. They can also be folded at the press of a button to create a flat loading surface.

Its on-road poise, muscular appeal and attractive 19” alloys coupled with an enhanced ground clearance of 307mm- the best in its segment, makes the GL-Class a very attractive proposition, while BlueEFFICIENCY tag is a statement of its environmental compatibility.”
