McLaren launches MP4-12C sports car
Formula One automaker McLaren has launched McLaren MP4-12C, a top-end sports car. The McLaren MP4-12C is a two-seat mid-engine model with a price ranging between £125,000 (about Rs 86 lakh) and £175,000 (about Rs 1.2 crore).
The MP4-12C is pure McLaren and will be produced by McLaren in the UK. It goes on sale through worldwide retailer network in early 2011.
McLaren’s automotive division has already built the world’s most critically acclaimed supercar, the McLaren F1 (1993-1998) and the world’s best-selling luxury supercar, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren (2003-2009). McLaren Automotive now looks to the future with a new range of revolutionary sports cars.
“Worldwide demand for high performance cars is strong, in large part because of great cars from great competitors. With McLaren joining that list, it will grow stronger still. What we are offering is a new approach to the market,” said Ron Dennis, McLaren Automotive Chairman.
