General Motors India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Motors Company launched its new Sedan car Chevrolet Cruze at an introductory price of Rs 10.99-12.45 lakh (ex- showroom, Delhi).

“Chevrolet Cruze is the first product from our third generation 300 -series platform. Chevrolet has become a driving force in India’s vehicle market and we expect it to perform well against established D-segment players,” said Mr. Karl Slym, President and Managing director, GM India.

Chevrolet Cruze is the first product to introduce the all-new Chevrolet design language, which will be seen across all future products.

The Chevrolet Cruze comes with 2.0-litre diesel engines in two different variants. The Chevrolet Cruze equipped with a high-performance common rail multiple fuel injection system. And advanced electronically controlled variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) with intercooler delivery a peak power of 150 ps. It claims that the car would give a mileage of 18.3 kilometre per litre.

GM India has also announced its small car Spark with an 800cc petrol engine in 2010.

The unveiling of the Cruze follows GM India’s launches of Captiva AT and Spark LPG this year.
