Fiat Linea & Fiat Grande Punto to cost more from January
Tasting the initial success after the launch in 2009, Fiat has announced that they will revise the prices of its Linea and Grande Punto from January, 2010. The prices of both Linea and Grande Punto will go up by Rs. 15,000 – Rs. 25,000 on an average and the new prices will come into effect from January 1, 2010. However, the price of the Fiat Palio Stile will remain unchanged.
Launched in January 2009, the Fiat Linea has recorded more than 12,000 units of sales wherein Grande Punto, which was launched five months later, has sold more than 9000 units. Both Linea & Grande Punto are available in FIRE petrol & Multijet diesel options.
Commenting on the upcoming price increase, Rajeev Kapoor, President & CEO, FIAL said, “The Linea and the Grande Punto have received a tremendous response in the Indian market and recorded highly impressive figures. The initial pricing of both the cars was an introductory offer so as to allow more patrons to experience these great products.”
“Input material costs have gone up substantially and without wanting to burden our consumers too much, the cars will now be available with a price increase of 2-2.5%. The Linea & Grande Punto continues to be two of the most attractive propositions in their respective segments”, he added.
