Handset major Motorola is planning to launch 8 new models by October this year, complimenting to the company's existing 24 models.
The new models will comprise a portfolio of mobile phones, ranging from low- to high-end handsets and will be rolled out targeting the festive season of Diwali, Motorola Mobile Devices vice president and general manager India Malcolm Dawe said.
This year Diwali - the festival of lights - falls on October 28.
The company has a prominent presence in the Indian market and it will continue to bring in a "portfolio of handsets". Motorola will rollout another 12 models in the country during this financial year, he said.
Motorola has also launched a range of 3G handsets in the country, while the company is also looking at bundling contracts with new players who have been provided Universal Access Service Licence (UASL).
