Targeting the youth and music lovers in the country, Motorola has launched its ROKR E8 in India, a phone hailed for easy navigation of music. The Motorokr E8 is priced at around Rs 15,455 and was launched by the company's brand ambassador and cine actor, Abhishek Bachchan.
The handset has a fastscroll navigation wheel - uses haptics technology to provide tactile response - much similar to the ones on iPod.
"The phone features technologies like Morphing (a process of highlighting only required keys like camera or music) and Modeshift (that allows users to switch modes with the press of a single button)," according to Motorola Mobile Devices (India & South West Asia) vice president and general manager Malcolm Dawe.
"ROKR E8 is an advanced audio player mobile device with a three dimensional stereo and this digital music portal Motomusic provides consumers with a number of ways to enjoy their music."
Other features include 2 GB internal memory, extendable by an additional 4 GB. Supplementing the music player is the 3.5 mm stereo earphone jack with support for A2DP (a Bluetooth profile for wireless headsets).
The supported music formats include MIDI, MP3, AAC, AAC+, Enhanced AAC+, WMA, WAV, AMR-NB and Real Audio (RA) v10. The camera is a 2 MP one with 8x zoom, and connectivity features include USB 2.0 Hi-speed, GPRS Class 12 and EDGE Class 12.
