Reliance Telecom Ltd (RTL) has accused the Cellular Operators' Association of India (COAI), the GSM operator's body, of not informing it on the meetings with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).
RTL, the GSM subsidiary of Reliance Communications, had not been co-operating with COAI for the last 18 months due to "difference of opinions".
RTL stated that its representative, who normally attends all these meetings, was not entertained in the recent meeting on mobile number is meeting. This is despite the fact that he was present at DoT at that time and was in touch with a DoT official. "This is against the constitution/by law of COAI and the refusal persistently on various issues by COAI is illegal that too while dealing with one of the oldest members of COAI," RTL said in its letter.
COAI in its reply said that RTL representative was "most welcome to attend the meeting as a member of COAI".
On Monday, COAI in a presentation before DoT opposed a request believed to be made by Reliance Communications to offer internal MNP. The association had also "requested urgent intervention" to reject the proposal.
Reliance Telecom, which has over 8 million subscribers across 8 circles, has also not been providing its monthly subscriber addition numbers to the association. |
