The two state-owned telecom majors Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (MTNL) have part ways on their joint submarine cable project in Sinagpore.
The two companies had joined hands in September 2006 to build an undersea cable from India to Singapore and Malaysia and another to West Asia, which was to be extended to US and Europe.
According to sources, BSNL today pulled out of the project, reasons for the move are still awaited. MTNL has thus said that it will set up the entire Rs 1,500 crore projects alone.
