Lenovo has announced the launch of the IdeaPad Y710 notebook PC, a multimedia powerhouse, in India. The IdeaPad Y710, equipped with a 17 inch monitor with a resolution of 1440 x 900.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Y710 is available in all Lenovo authorised storefronts. Prices range from Rs. 45,000 to 85000.

For a graphics processor, Lenovo has used the ATI Radeon Mobility HD 2600 with 512MB of memory. Features like WLAN connectivity, Dolby Home Theatre system as well as an optional Blu-ray DVD reader ensures that the IdeaPad Y710 notebook caters to the entertainment enthusiast.
The IdeaPad Y710 notebook also includes a performance control switch with Turbo mode for maximum power, which includes CPU overclocking and Quiet mode for saving energy. The IdeaPad Y710 can also serve as a desktop replacement due to its large screen, storage space, and performance.
Selected models of the Lenovo IdeaPad Y710 come with Game Zone functionality. Game Zone includes enlarged directional buttons for enhanced game play, four user-customizable buttons and a secondary display showing system information such as CPU speed.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Y710 is a hard drive of up to 320 GB with a speed of 5400rpm that also houses a second, hot swap hard drive. Lenovo for the first time has introduced RAID function in the IdeaPad Y710. RAID function simultaneously uses both the hard disk drives to achieve greater levels of input/ output performance and data reliability. It also maintains mirror copies of the data on different drives to ensure complete data security.
Multimedia features
The IdeaPad Y710 is equipped with a Dolby Home Theater system which delivers exceptional surround sound for movies, videos, music and games and offers a theatre-style sound experience through four speakers and a subwoofer. The combination of the VeriFace face recognition software and an integrated 1.3 megapixel camera can recognize a user’s face for log-in and help eliminate the need to remember passwords, thus providing unprecedented ease and security.
The notebook’s Multimedia Control Center provides an excellent multimedia experience with easy-to-use software to play movies, listen to music and view photos. The notebook comes with touch sensitive controls and the users can quickly select between multimedia choices, volume and equalizer.
