The bulk drug pharma company has come out with satisfactory results in the quarter ended 30 June 2008. The company has posted 15% growth in topline as the revenue grew from Rs 122.63 crore in the same quarter previous year to Rs 141.03 crore on standalone basis. The operating profits showed an impressive 18% increase. The profit after tax grew at Rs 37.02 crore depicting 13% rise.
On the consolidated basis the company posted Rs250.2 crore revenues and Rs 49.89 crore in profit after tax. USA market contributed the most to the tune of 41% of the top line. Herbal/ neutraceutical vertical contributed 85% of the total sales in value terms.
The company completed the formalities for the acquisition of Natrol- a USA based pharmaceuticals manufacturer in the first quarter of the year. “Given the successful completion of acquisition in USA and focus on herbal/ nutraceutical verticle, the company is expected to post an EPS of Rs 60 for the CY08,” observed a senior analyst with a foreign broking firm.
