ABG Shipyard delivered tug to Norwegian firm

ABG Shipyard has delivered a new anchor handling tug supply vessel (AHTS), `Sea Wolverine' to Norway-based Deep Sea Supply ASA. This is the second vessel to be delivered to Deep Sea Supply. Besides, the Indian company is building another 7 vessels for Deep Sea Supply ASA, Norway.

The 63.4 metre long, 80 T Bollard pull AHTS vessel upgraded with DP-1 capability with kongesberg equipment, with Rolls Royce propulsion is able to maintain auto-station keeping, carry out anchor handling (Brattwag Deck machinery), toying operations, dry bulk handling (Progressive Technique), towing rescue, offshore supply, transport pipes, fresh water, diesel oil, stores, materials and equipment, move men and materials between platforms and shore, external fire fighting and other related duties.

The vessel is to supply, support the floating production offloading atorage (FPSO) vessels, offshore oil and gas field on a 24 hour per day basis.

Deep Sea Supply Plc is an offshore supply company. It owns a fleet of about 8 AHTS and 1 platform supply vessel (PSV) in operation and 20 shipbuilding contracts of which 7 PSVs and 11 AHTS. The delivery of the new buildings will be in the period 2007 to 2009.

ABG Shipyard is the largest private sector shipyard in India. The company is an established manufacturer of marine ships, including bulk carriers, deck barges, interceptor boats, anchor handling supply ships, driving support ships, tugs and offshore vessels.
