Strike brings Kerala and Bengal to a standstill

The left sponsored strike all over India has disrupted the life. The left forte Kerala and Bengal have reached a standstill as the air and rail traffic was stopped in totality.

With the left club of trade unions comprising CITU, AITUC, HMS, AICCTU, UTUC and TUCC joining the strike, normal industrial activities and services in the bank, insurance and other vital sectors are affected. Though, in western India including the financial capital the strike had a bare minimum impact. However as the banking system is affected in certain parts of India, there is an estimate that the banking operations will be at least delayed amounting to a loss of few thousand millions of rupees.

The strike was aimed at inflation and other labour related issues including growing outsourcing and protection to the unorganized labourers. All over India the trade unions arranged for many protests and processions to report their unrest. Though till evening there was no report of any untoward incident in the country. The state governments were all geared up with additional police forces in sensitive areas. Since last Wednesday, there is a little work possible due to a spur of holidays and the common man is being held at ransom due to such a strike.
