IT major Sun Microsystems has been appointed Anil Valluri as India chief while the current president Bhaskar Pramanik moves into a larger global role.
Valluri has been named as the vice president and managing director of India, which is in line with the formation of new emerging markets sales geography. The news sales geography is to grow business across South and Eastern Europe, Latin America, India and Greater China.
"This is a matter of pride for Sun India and we are all excited at the development," Sun Microsystems India Director (Strategic Alliances) K P Unnikrishnan said making the announcement at the 'Sun Media Symposium 2008' in Krabi, Thailand.
Prior to the appointment, Valluri was corporate director and head services practice in India. He joined Sun India in 1999 as director (Systems Engineering and Chief Technology Officer), responsible for all technology, product and solution consulting.
Bhaskar Pramanik, president India Geographically Established Market (GEM) has been promoted as vice president Global Volume Business. Pramanik, who has been the face of Sun India, will now be relocated to the US. He will focus on building and growing Sun's volume business across the world. |
