If you assumed that dhol reverberations have come to a grinding halt in Gujarat after Navratri, think again. After the nine-night celebrations, here is another drum that is beating in the state.
BIG Music and Big Pictures has started the music of the forthcoming film, 'Dholi Taaro Dhol Waage'. Besides romance, the fim's theme also involves rhythm.
Directed by Govindbhai Patel, 'Dholi Taaro Dhol Waage' is a tale of passion for dhol and love. Raju, a dhol player, belonging to the lower rung of the society, who inherited the art from his father, meets the daughter of a thakur, Manasi. With his drum-playing abilities he wins her heart. But like a typical Bollywood saga, they face a stiff opposition. The film takes us through the journey of the duo overcoming all societal pressure to be together.
Two top Gujarati actors, Upendra Trivedi and Naresh Kanodia, come together on the screen for the first time. The film also has Roma Manek, Feroze Irani, Nishat, Kesha, Ishwar, Reena.
The music is composed by Arvind Barot and Mahesh Bhavriya. The music release of the film marks the foray of BIG Music into mainstream Gujarati cinema.
