The arrest of servicemen and some ex-servicemen has propelled the talk of 'Hindu terrorism' making it to the core of the evil terrorist stream in India. Many are trying to tap the political potential of the development keeping aside the national interest. A point to note that when the investigating agencies make it to the Prime Minister's office, there is a considerable speculation going on as there is a possibility of tapping some of the bigwigs of VVIP status.
However it is a time when the PMO is expected to facilitate and empower the investigating agencies to go to the root of this issue. There is a need to do some conscious efforts to purge all the rotten minds that backed this conspiracy and initiated an evil trend in Hindus. The most important thing is to nab all those who offered their skills that they acquired in military and used their connections with Indian military to the conspirators. Maligning the image of the Indian military forces must be treated as the biggest crime committed. The military disciplinary committee will take the due course of action to 'court marshal' the officers. But the process should not stop there. There is a need to take some preventive measures to ensure that there will not be any more Lt Col Purohit in the system.
Some Hindu outfits have been actively backing the arrested people claiming the arrests are an attack of Hindu religion. However they fail to understand that the bombs do not recognise religions. Today the Hindu bombs may kill few Muslims, but over a period of time there is no guarantee that only Muslims will be killed as Hindus still makes it to more than 60% of the population. Offering legal aid and staging protests have more to do with the political motives and not with survival, conservation and growth of any religion. It is the individual interest that rules the roosts than anything else.
If we were to have a look at the efforts taken by the police authorities in any investigations in recent past, there is a clear weightage given to the political outcomes of that investigation. This has got its own ill effects on the natural justice and law and order in the times to come. Hence there is a need to maintain transparency in the entire investigation, which is possible if and only if there is a strong political will behind the investigating agencies. |
