Kingfisher Airlines will commence non-stop Mumbai to London flights from January 5, 2009. Tickets for the inaugural as well as subsequent flights are already available.
Kingfisher Airlines' flight from Mumbai will take off at 1.50 pm and arrive at London Heathrow's Terminal 4 at 5.55 pm local time. From London, the flight will leave at 8.30 pm and arrive the next day at 11 am local time.
The launch of this new sector marks the second international route to be operated by Kingfisher Airlines. The first one was the Bangalore- London sector launched on September 3.
Commenting on the launch, Vijay Mallya, Chairman and CEO, Kingfisher Airlines, said, "I am delighted to announce the launch of daily non-stop flights between Mumbai and London. Given the strong linkages between India and the United Kingdom, we believe that there is untapped potential and this new route promises to serve the unmet needs of discerning corporate and leisure flyers to these destinations."
The Centre recently granted Kingfisher approval to operate flights on other routes namely, Mumbai-Hong Kong, Mumbai-Singapore, Chennai-Colombo, Bangalore-Colombo, Kolkata-Dhaka, Kolkata-Chittagong, Bangalore-Bangkok and Mumbai-Bangkok sectors. The time frame for launch of these services will be announced in due course.
The flights on the Mumbai-London sector will be operated using a brand new Airbus A330-200. Configured in two classes, the Kingfisher First and Kingfisher Class of the aircraft feature:
