Delta Air Lines is adding the world's longest range commercial jetliner to its fleet, Boeing 777-200LR, on commercial service between New York-JFK and Mumbai. Delta is bolstering its ability to connect customers and cargo between virtually any two cities around the globe, non-stop.
The new 777-200LR is the flagship aircraft for Delta's new global product, including fully horizontal personal sleeper suites in BusinessElite, next-generation, more comfortable seats in coach, and Delta's on-demand entertainment system on larger screens at every seat.
The new aircraft also offers added cargo capabilities for shippers and freight forwarders.
Delta is taking delivery of an initial two B777-200LR aircraft in spring 2008, with a further six on order.
The aircraft will be used to serve Delta's ultra long-haul nonstop routes. The new fully horizontal personal suites on Delta Boeing B777-200LR will give business class passengers more privacy, space and completely flat comfort.
Some of the exciting features on the new Boeing 777-200LR Longer Range aircraft include:
- Reclining seats that adjust to multiple comfortable positions, including a completely flat surface offering travelers a 6-foot 3-inch bed;
- Privacy screens incorporating pull out meal table, fold-out 10.6 inch personal video screen, integrated footrest and personal stowage compartment for carry on bags, shoes or blankets; and
- Immediate access to the aisle so customers don't have to disturb another passenger when exiting their seat
- USB ports offering charging ability for personal MP3 players.
- Delta's industry-leading entertainment system in BusinessElite and Economy class offering personal Delta on Demand digital video programming, 3,000 music options, and a selection of 12 exciting video games at every passenger's seat.
