Maruti Suzuki India is betting on its to-be-launched small car A-Star to beat sagging sales.
The A-Star will be the latest addition to the company's stable and will be made in India.
The company is upbeat on the A-Star: it hopes to sell about 50,000 units in the Indian market and sees exports at 1 lakh during the first year of launch.
The A-Star is likely to deliver an unbelievable 19.59 km per litre and will be powered by the company's KB10 998 cc petrol engine. It will come in three variants. While Maruti is tightlipped on the price, it is likely to be around Rs 4 lakh.
