launch a portal aptly titled www.direct2studio.com in January for the
professionals in growing film and TV industry. The portal is already
online but on the test. It will be formally launched in January, 2008.
The portal has been developed by in-house developers of Elephas
Technologies and the test run is already on. Initially, the portal
direct2studio will focus on the acting talent and gradually expand in
other talent categories like singers, musicians, directors, art
directors, locations etc. As the film and TV industry has grown by
leaps and bounds, there was no platform for the acting talent in the
country which could connect them to the production houses directly.
Any acting aspirant can register free with the portal and the
production companies can virtually select the actors for their
projects without casting director and middle man.
Wannabe actors so far had two options to get noticed in bollywood.
Hang around the streets of Andheri and Juhu or gatecrash into a top
film studio. Direct2studio, an e-commerce and internet venture,
presents option C. This free portal hosts photos of aspiring actors, supported by a profile with details about the candidate. By just
logging onto the Internet, directors and producers can now check out
the talent pool and contact aspiring actors directly. Many models,
cine and TV stars are already using this service.Leading production
companies like Yashraj films and other film and tv production
companies have already shown interest in the portal.

However, registration on the portal is free for production companies
and actors both, the portal will generate revenue through premium
listings, advertising, offline subscriptions and other promotional tie
ups with various companies. Portal will be promoted through search
engines, various talent hunts and bollywood related events, in film
tie ups and advertising in specific magazines and journals.
