Pixelkraft presents Ram & Ria - India's First micro sitcom in English

Chennai, December 3, 2007

It is a slice of life, humorous micro series about a newly wed urban Indian couple. The story here is that it is not produced for the TV but is created exclusively for the alternate screens like, internet, mobile, out of home media and In-flight entertainment. The micro series can be viewed on www.ramandria.tv which will feature new episodes regularly.

In recent times, there has been a shift in media consumption with people spending more and more time online. People are now beginning to consume entertainment less on other mediums and more on the move and alternate screens. Original entertainment content created for the
alternate screens like the internet or mobile phones which require short format content is still scarce. Most of the videos posted online are either low quality rips of television content such as serials, news clips, music videos or personal home videos. The short format content or micro series, like RamandRia.tv, also provide brands an innovative branding opportunity and help them increase their brand presence on the internet and mobile platforms.

Pixelkraft Media Solutions has made a foray into the short format content category, with the micro series - RamandRia. The story of RamandRia is simple. Ram is a techie, nerdy, stuck-to-the-roots, traditional South Indian in his late 20's. Ria is the suave, stylish, cosmopolitan Mumbaiker in her early 20's. Fate plays cupid and in spite of being complete opposites, they fall in love in a hurry and marry in haste. After marriage, they slowly begin to discover, whether they are really made for each other, as each day in their lives is full of shocking surprises, culture shocks and hilarious twists pushing them to their wits end, literally. It's a north meets south, battle-of-the-sexes romantic comedy that will surely appeal to the 'young' adult crowd. 'Ram' played by V. Balakrishnan and 'Ria' played by Aarti Aaney are renowned theatre artistes in India.

Structured in a non-linear narrative format, the user can choose to view any episode and still not miss the storyline, on the lines of classic television comedies like 'Friends'. Unlike Youtube videos, ramandria.tv is professionally produced entertainment content. The dearth of professionally created online content will make ramandria.tv stand apart and draw more audiences.

Directed by Siddharth S Kumar – Creative Director, PixelKraft, Ramandria.tv is produced by PixelKraft – a four year old media solutions company based in Chennai who recently launched Indibiz.tv – the first interactive online video directory for brands. Pixelkraft is
into Content Creation, Online Distribution, Online Exhibition, and Advertising – Brand Development & Marketing Communication solutions.
