Nokia unveils today the newest device management features of Nokia
Intellisync Mobile Suite. The next generation release offers single
platform to manage both OMA DM compatible mobile devices as well as
devices running Nokia Intellisync Mobile Suite client. This technology
approach provides flexibility to support a wide variety of mobile
devices and operating systems with advanced device management
functionalities such as device configuration, application management,
asset collection, help desk, theft-loss protection and recovery.
"We see centralized management of computer workstations becoming a
more commonly accepted practice within businesses today, and
organizations are similarly beginning to recognize the importance of
remote management for their mobile devices," said Scott Cooper, senior
vice president, Mobility Solutions, Enterprise Solutions, Nokia. "Utilizing the latest innovations in device management, organizations
can lower IT support costs, enhance the usability of worker's devices,
while simplifying the management of these devices and increasing the
ability to respond quickly to security threats."
In addition to fleet management an increasing number of applications
on mobile devices can also be managed via the same device management
solution.
"We are committed to creating the best in class, fully open, mobility
solutions for our customers," said Marcus Birkl, vice president of
sales, Hipath Wireless, Siemens Enterprise Communications. "By
choosing Nokia Intellisync Device Management as a key part of our
HiPath MobileConnect solution we are able to deliver on both our
promise of open communications as well as the benefits of fixed mobile
convergence - enhanced control, increased productivity and lower
mobility costs. Together we are helping businesses realize the
benefits of secure, reliable and well managed enterprise mobility."
Nokia Intellisync Device Management is further optimized for service
providers supporting hosted environments with role-based
administration and multi-tenant support. This enables service
providers to offer new service packages to their business customers
that meet the enterprise requirements.
"Device management solutions enable businesses to cope with rising
costs, security concerns and management issues in the fast-paced
mobile device market," said Dan Strömberg, head of global accounts,
Integrated Enterprise Services, TeliaSonera. "We chose Nokia
Intellisync Device Management in particular as it enables us to offer
new value added services that address business needs making it easier
for our customers to secure and manage mobile device fleets while
reaping the benefits of improved mobile worker productivity."
