IBM India moves into Vishakapatanam

IBM India has commenced operations from the coastal city of Vishakapatanam in Andhra Pradesh, in line with its strategy of making India a hub for its global operations. Commencing of operations from the city would enable IBM to strengthen its pan India foothold and cater to the requirements of the various clients across the city and its neighboring markets. The IT major was planning to enter 14 new cities in the country, IBM India said in a statement.

IBM is slated to spread its wings in six additional cities including Nashik, Surat, Bhubaneswar, Jamshedpur, Jaipur and Madurai. The company centres are already operational in Chandigarh, Nagpur, Coimbatore, Goa, Lucknow, Bhopal and Lucknow. IBM envisions setting new standards of excellency through the newly opened centres which are state of the art. Lingraju Sawkar, VP – GSMB, IBM India/South Asia, said "Our entry into Vizag is a reflection of IBM's continued commitment to working closely with the newer segments throughout India to empower them with world class technology; thus paving their way to success."
