Switzerland's national carrier, Swiss International Airlines commenced a new daily non-stop service between Zurich and Delhi today, increasing the number of weekly flights between India and Switzerland from 7 to 14.
This new daily non-stop service will provide passengers with better connectivity and more flexibility in their travel plans. Swiss International Airlines now provides passengers with a greater choice of weekly flights between India and Zurich, reinforcing the airlines commitment to India.
Passengers, including Swiss International Airlines VIP delegation led by Mr. Christoph Franz, CEO, Swiss International Air Lines, Mr. Urs Eberhard, Executive Vice President Markets & MICE, Switzerland Tourism and Mr. Oliver Evans, Chief Cargo Officer, Swiss WorldCargo, arriving on the first LX 146 flight from Zurich this morning were given a very warm welcome by the airport authorities upon arrival at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International airport.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Christoph Franz, CEO, Swiss International Airlines said, "We are delighted to make Delhi as the first long-haul addition to the SWISS route network. Swiss International Airlines also announced the appointment of Mr. Jean-Philippe Benoit as General Manager India who commenced on October 15 2007. Mr. Benoit will be responsible for overseeing the company's sales in India.
The Swiss flag carrier is operating the route to Delhi with an Airbus A330 aircraft offering a total of 228 seats – 48 in Business Class and 180 in Economy Class. Departure and arrival times have been coordinated so as to provide the passengers arriving in Zurich from India get the best possible choice of connecting flights to European destinations. |
