Equal food and equal treatment

Maharashtra is very much proud of its cultural heritage and the values it nurture. It happened to be the land of great people such as Shahu, Phule and Ambedkar, who spent their lives for improving the quality of life of public at large and especially of the weaker segments of the
society. However still there are pockets, where the psyche has not undergone any change and still living with the outdated ideas and concepts.  The ministry of public welfare of Maharashtra state has been discriminating against the girls.

The quantity of food given to girls is less than the quantity of food given to boys of same age. This ill treatment is given in all fields food, clothes, other consumables. Women have been doing extremely well across the board and it is the time that the society at large, must admit this reality and stand behind them to ensure that they deliver.

The public welfare ministry is expected to think of public welfare and ensure emancipation of weaker sections of the society. The discriminating policies from this department not only upsets the framework of the constitution but also challenges the very basic principles of natural justice.

On the one hand the farmers are committing suicides for two years. There is a clear rise being seen in the suicides of students. Atrocities against women are on upswing. All this makes us more worried about the discriminating treatment given to girl student. On the one hand the government is talking about all round development of girl child, however on the other the actions are far from desired.

Equal treatment to girl student is a must and there is a need to implement this policy of equality from the very top. Self discipline is a must but also there is a need to put a law in place that will ensure discipline in the social place.
