Jet Airways to launch daily direct flights to Kuwait, Bahrain

Jet Airways is to start direct flights to Kuwait and Bahrain starting January 5, 2008, making it India's first private airline to start commercial operations to the Gulf countries. Jet Airways will fly Boeing 737-800 aircraft on these sectors.

The carrier will initially launch two daily direct flights on the Kochi-Kuwait-Kochi and Kochi-Bahrain-Kochi sectors. The airline will also operate daily flights on the Mumbai-Bahrain-Mumbai and Delhi-Kuwait-Delhi sectors.

"Jet Airways is proud to be the first Indian private sector carrier to fly to the Gulf. With a large number of Indians living and working in the Gulf, flights to these sectors consistently register high load factors," Jet Airways Chief Executive Officer Wolfgang Prock-Schauer said.

Jet Airways' flight 9W 574 (Kochi-Kuwait) will depart from Kochi

International Airport at 19.40 hours and arrive at Kuwait International Airport at 22.20 hours. Flight 9W 573 (Kuwait-Kochi) will depart Kuwait International Airport at 12.30 hours and arrive at Kochi International Airport at 20.20 hours.

Jet Airways' flight 9W 594 (Kochi-Bahrain) will depart Kochi International Airport at 17.50 hours and arrive at Bahrain International Airport at 20.00 hours. Flight 9W 593 (Bahrain-Kochi) will depart Bahrain International Airport at 08.45 hours and arrive at Kochi International Airport at 16.10 hours.

On the Delhi-Kuwait route, Jet Airways' flight (9W 572) will depart from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport at 09.00 hours and arrive at Kuwait International Airport at 11.00 hours. On the return leg, flight 9W 571 (Kuwait-Delhi) will depart Kuwait International Airport at 23.50 hours and arrive at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport at 06.30 hours.

Jet Airways' flight 9W 592 (Mumbai-Bahrain) will depart from Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at 06.05 hours and arrive at Bahrain at 0715 hours. On the return leg, flight 9W 591 (Bahrain-Mumbai) will depart Bahrain International Airport at 21.30 hours and arrive at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at 03.50 hours.
