New York Stock Exchange-listed Wipro is setting up a global IT services centre in Australia. The new centre in Western Sydney will provide consulting, software development and testing services to domestic and global companies in that country. Wipro started operations in Australia 2002 and at present has a strong customer base across the region with operations in NSW and Victoria.

The development centre strengthens Wipro's dominance in the region and integrates its Sydney operation with Wipro's Global Delivery Model. With revenues of $3.47 billion (06-07) and over than 80,000 professionals, Wipro provides IT and consulting services to organisations globally.
