Jet Airways is to launch daily direct flights to Muscat and Doha from Kozhikode (Calicut), and Kochi to Muscat and Mumbai to Doha, starting January 23, 2008.
The company is already operating daily direct flights on the Kochi-Kuwait-Kochi, Kochi-Bahrain-Kochi, Mumbai-Bahrain-Mumbai and Delhi-Kuwait-Delhi sectors.
Jet Airways will serve these routes with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, the company said in a release today.
With the introduction of these new flights Kozhikode will be the second city in Kerala to be connected by Jet Airways’ international services to the Middle East.
Announcing the launch of these new flights, Naresh Goyal, Chairman, Jet Airways said, “With the launch of Jet Airways’ operations to Muscat and Doha Indian nationals living and working in Middle East will be closer to home.”
Jet Airways’ flight 9W 538 (Kozhikode–Muscat) will depart Kozhikode at 0930 hours and arrive Muscat’s Seeb International Airport at 1135 hours. Flight 9W 537 (Muscat-Kozhikode) will depart Muscat’s Seeb International Airport at 0230 hours and arrive Kozhikode at 0800 hours.
Jet Airways’ flight 9W 554 (Kozhikode-Doha) will depart Kozhikode at 2000 hrs and arrive Doha International Airport at 2200 hrs. Flight 9W 553 (Doha-Kozhikode) will depart Doha International Airport at 1000 hours and arrive at Kozhikode 1655 hours on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. On Tuesdays and Saturdays, 9W 553 will depart Doha International Airport at 1100 and hours arrive at Kozhikode at 1755 hours.
Launching flights to Muscat from Kochi on January 23, 2008, Jet Airways’ flight 9W 534 (Kochi-Muscat) will depart Kochi at 2250 hours and arrive Muscat’s Seeb International at 0100 hours. On the return leg, flight 9W 533 (Muscat-Kochi) will depart Muscat’s Seeb International Airport at 1305 hours and arrive Kochi International Airport at 1750 hours.
Launching simultaneous operations to Doha from Mumbai, Jet Airways’ flight 9W 552 (Mumbai-Doha) will depart from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at 0720 hours and arrive at Doha International Airport at 0825 hours on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.
On Tuesdays and Saturdays, flight 9W 552 will depart Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at 0840 hours and arrive at Doha International Airport at 0945 hours. The return flight 9W 551 (Doha-Mumbai) will depart Doha International Airport at 2315 hours and arrive at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at 0515 hours.
At present, Jet Airways operates a fleet of 76 aircraft, including 8 Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft, 7 Airbus A330-200 aircraft, 52 classic and next generation Boeing 737-400/700/800/900 aircraft and 9 modern ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft.
