Maruti Suzuki launches SX4 Hybrid and Eeco Charge Electric concepts for demonstration

India’s car market leader Maruti Suzuki handed over first lot of Two Maruti Suzuki SX4 Hybrid cars and One ‘Eeco Charge’ to Mr Arvinder Singh Lovely, Hon’ble Minister of Transport for NCT Delhi. The vehicles intended for use at the forthcoming Commonwealth Games, were handed over by Mr. Shinzo Nakanishi, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, in the city.

LeasePlan and Japan’s auto firm Nissan signed an agreement to cooperate in an European-wide project to launch the 100% electric Nissan LEAF in 2011. LeasePlan is the first leasing company to offer the Nissan LEAF in Europe, said Nissan. The car will be mass-marketed globally from 2012 onwards.

Orders for the all-new Nissan March, Micra have surpassed regional monthly and annual targets in a very short period of time. First released in Thailand in mid-March, it has already topped 25,700 units which is 28% more than its yearly target of 20,000 units for the Thai market in six months.

Tata Motors CNG-Electric Hybrid Bus, India’s first, on Delhi roads

During the Commonwealth Games, DTC will also operate a fleet of 600 Tata low floor air-conditioned CNG buses for the exclusive use of athletes and delegates. Tata Motors is providing round-the-clock upkeep & maintenance of these buses, with a dedicated team of over 500 engineers, mechanics and other staff at the Millennium Park Depot, specially created for the Commonwealth Games.
