Ford Motor Company plans to launch eight new models in India by the middle of the decade as it moves to rapidly expand its presence in the fast growing market. Joe Hinrichs, president of Ford Asia Pacific and Africa (APA), made the announcement on Thursday, August 26, 2010 during a keynote speech titled “Managing Growth – Evolving Market Dynamics” at the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) Conference in New Delhi.

SpiceJet’s Chief Commercial Officer, Samyukth Sridharan, said that the company inducted 22nd aircraft and wanted to expand its presence in the Southern region. Madurai is among the top three industrial towns of Tamil Nadu. It is the only airport in India serving six Lok Sabha constituencies, he says. adding that the company is eager to announce Madurai as its 20th destination.”

Tata Teleservices Ltd (TTSL) is India’s first privately owned mobile operator to sign a deal securing its 3G telecoms supplier. It has selected Nokia Siemens Networks technology and expertise to support the launch of 3G. The network, based on WCDMA 3G and including HSPA+, will allow TTSL to offer high-quality mobile broadband providing fast Internet browsing and better quality voice calls.
