Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) launched its long awaited international road-sport motorcycle “VFR1200F” in the Fun bike segment. The bike VFR1200F is priced at Rs 17.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike is powered by a 1237cc V4 engine produces more than 90% of its maximum torque (129Nm/8,750 rpm) at 4000rpm and has a fuel tank capacity of 18.5b liters and is available with both manual and automatic transmission. The super bike will be available in the Indian market in August 2010.

German luxury car maker Porsche launched five models of its second-generation Cayenne namely Cayenne, Cayenne S, Caynne Turbo, Cayenne Diesel and Cayenne S Hybrid in India (ex-showroom). The company’s ex-showroom price of the five Cayenne models are: Cayenne (Rs 65.82 lakh), Cayenne S (Rs 78.62 lakh), Caynne Turbo (Rs 1.27 crore), Cayenne Diesel (Rs 59.22 lakh) and Cayenne S Hybrid (Rs 75.46 lakh).

Pharmaceutical and biotechnology major Wockhardt gets US FDA nod for marketing 25 mg, 50mg, 100mg and 200mg extended-release tablets of Metoprolol succinate, a cardiac drug. Metoprolol Succinate, a generic name for the brand Toprol XL, was used for 24-hour control of hypertension, treatment of angina and in improving survival after heart attack.

Thai Airways International (THAI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Airbus for the purchase of seven more A330-300s. The aircraft will be delivered from the end of 2011 and will join an existing fleet of 20 A330-300s flying to destinations across the Asia-Pacific region, says a press statement at the Airbus website.
The MOU was finalised on July 21, 2010 at the Farnborough International Airshow in the UK by Captain Montree Jumrieng, THAI Managing Director of Technical Department and John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer, Customers.

Airbus’ latest joint venture in China, Harbin Hafei Airbus Composite Manufacturing Centre (the manufacturing centre), has signed a contract for the work package of A350 XWB belly fairing parts with the Spain-based Alestis Aerospace. As one of Airbus’ tier one suppliers, Alestis is specialized in the design, development, certification, manufacturing and support of complex carbon fiber aerostructure, stated the company.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. (TKM) launched the diesel version of its premium sedan Corolla Altis in India. The Corolla Altis Diesel is priced between Rs 10.95 lakh and 13.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), said the company.
The Corolla Altis Diesel is available with a newly developed 1.4L in-line 4-cylinder D-4D Common Rail six-speed manual transmission engine that generates a peak power of 88.4 PS and a peak torque of 205 Nm. Tata Motors will swiftly ramp up production of the country’s cheapest small car, Nano, at its Sanand plant in Gujarat as the company is all set to operatioanise the plant before schedule. The sales booking of Ford Figo has crossed 25,000 mark in 100 days after the hatchback car was in March in India proving that it is one of the country’s much-demanded compact cars.
