Qatar Airways begins Doha-Bangalore service

Qatar Airways, as part of its 2010 global expansion programme, launched scheduled flights to Bengaluru (Bangalore) to cater to the travelers in the southern city. Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, becomes the first of several new route launches being planned by Qatar Airways during 2010, said the airlines’ release. On the Doha–Bengaluru route, Qatar Airways is operating an Airbus A320 in a two-class configuration of 12 seats in Business Class and 132 in Economy.

Volkswagen’s New Polo launched, pricing to give tough competition to rivals

Volkswagen launched its much-awaited premium hatchback, the New Polo in Mumbai. polo will be available in two variants — petrol and diesel. Both the variants are equipped with 1.2L engine. The petrol variant of Volkswagen Polo is priced at Rs 4.34 lakhs (ex showroom New Delhi) while the 1.2L diesel variant comes at Rs 5.32 lakhs (ex-showroom New Delhi). Deliveries of the new 1.2L 75HP New Polo petrol variant will begin from March 2010 onwards across all Volkswagen dealerships, says a company release. The 1.2L diesel variant will be available from May 2010. Volkswagen Polo is set to rub shoulders with same segment products like Maruti Swift, Maruti Ritz, Fiat Punto, Hyundai i10 and Hyundai i20.

Transcend launched 1.5TB storage capacity bearing StoreJet 35T external hard disk drive in India wit a writing speed of 42 MB/s compared with the regular 33MB/s. This 3.5-inch external hard drive is Windows 7 Certified and has high-speed USB 2.0 and is priced at about Rs 14,000. StoreJet 35T is both eco and user-friendly, with its TurboHDD USB technology and its power-saving sleep mode.

Kingfisher Airlines to launch New Delhi – London Flights

Kingfisher Airlines is all set to launch its New Delhi – London flights from March 28, 2010. The New Delhi – London flights will be operational on a daily basis and going to fly non-stop from New Delhi to London Heathrow. The booking of airline tickets for the inaugural flight and subsequent flights are now available for sale.

Reliance Mobile launched two new CDMA Handsets named Huawei C3500 & Huawei C3200 to cater to the needs of CDMA users in India. The newly launched Huawei C3500 comes with an MP3 player along with FM Radio and FM Recorder.

Eeco: a new synonym for affordability, family theme

Maruti Suzuki, the name which every second car on Indian roads bears, has launched the much-waited multi-utility vehicle (MUV), Eeco recently. Aimed to be a bigger and a complete family car, the main advantage of an MUV is the space that it provides. However, it is easy to make out that this model is nothing but a stripped-down version of the phased-out Versa. Eeco comes with two seating options – 5-seater and 7-seater. The 5-seater is further divided into two variants, standard (without A/C) and A/C.
