Consumer confidence in India has seen a steady rise for some time now and India has topped the latest round of Nielsen’s Consumer Confidence Survey with 120 index points. Indians are the most optimistic lot who think the country will be out of an economic recession in the next twelve months (67%). The percentage of Indians who think India is currently under recession has also gone down by 10 percent to 52 percent this quarter.

11th Mumbai Film Festival open with ‘The Informant’

11th Mumbai Film Festival open with ‘The Informant’ directed by Academy-Award Winning Mr. Steven Soderbergh. The Informant’ is a dark political comedy based on true events and the 2000 non-fiction book of the same name by journalist Kurt Eichenwald. The film stars Matt Damon, Scott Bakula, Joel McHale and Melanie Lynskey and tells the story of Mark Whitacre (Damon), a rising star at a Decatur, Illinois based Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) in the early 1990’s whose wife forces him to blow the whistle on the company’s price-fixing tactics. The 11th Mumbai Film Festival, organised by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI).

Maruti Suzuki launches the revamped SX4

Maruti Suzuki launched the revamped new SX4 sedan with a price tag ranging from Rs. 6.68 lakh – Rs. 8.36 lakh, (ex-showroom Delhi), in competition with segment leader Honda City. The newly launched sedan comes with an engine powered by the advanced VVT technology. The revamped SX4 also possess the newly introduced 4-speed automatic transmission as well as the traditional manual transmission.

Microsoft launches latest OS; Windows 7 in India

Microsoft Corporation, world’s largest IT major announced the availability of its latest operating system (OS), Windows 7 in India. Windows 7 is designed to be more reliable and responsive, delivering a simplified PC experience for consumers. The new Windows 7 supports both 64-bit & 32-bit processors.

Toyota launches Luxury Hybrid ‘SAI’

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), the world’s largest automaker launches its luxury sedan gasoline-electric hybrids “Sai” in Japan, which is planned to go on sale in Japan on December with a base price of $37,290.Also, Toyota Lexus announces the official launch of the LFA, a two-seat supercar scheduled to go into production at the end of 2010 as the pinnacle of the Lexus “F” premium sports car series.
