Honda launches Jazz in India

Honda Siel Cars India launched its maiden compact car Honda Jazz in the Indian market. Priced the 1.2-liter Honda Jazz is available between Rs 6.98 lakh and 7.33 lakh (US $15,511- 16,289). The Honda Jazz comes with a 2+2 years or 80,000 kms warranty and 4 years Roadside Assistance as standard value for all Jazz buyers.

Nokia is the most-preferred handset

Dr. Manmohan Singh government may not be able to pull 30% of the billion plus Indians above the poverty line but he could certainly offer a billion mobile connections to Indians by 2014, according to the forecasts by Department of Telecommunications. Nokia emerged as the most preferred brand for mobile handsets, followed by Sony Ericsson, according to a survey.

The journey to visit the temple of Ranakpur started at about 11.30am and we would have to travel for an hour and half to reach it. We were traveling by a mini van from Rani to Ranakpur, around 60kms. Ranakpur is situated approximately 96 km from Udaipur.

Built during the reign of the liberal monarch Rana Kumbha in the 15th century, this temple is huge and covers over 48,000 sq. feet area. There are three small shrines, twenty four pillared halls and eligibly domes supported by over 1444 columns.

It is said to be inspired by Kailash Parbat and indeed, when you drive through the huge gate everything is hidden behind a huge wall. Walk through the cool garden area with beautiful flowers and into the main temple complex, you are left breathless. Within the garden is the Sun Temple dedicated to Surya (the Sun God). The temple has polygonal walls, and is adorned with the carvings of warriors, horses and solar deities riding chariots.

Fiat to launch Grande Punto on June 17

Fiat India Automobiles Ltd announced that it is poised to launch both the petrol and diesel versions of the Grande Punto, a mid-size hatchback, on June 17, 2009. The company plans to launch and unveil the car at a grand ceremony to be held in New Delhi. The car is what many would consider a perfect follow up to the Linea which has already created ripples in the C plus segment. Grande Punto will roll out from the company’s state-of-the-art plant at Ranjangaon which also manufactures Fiat’s Linea and Palio.
