Lufthansa Passenger Airline have increased their services in India in recent years and now is keen on expanding its flight services with three new non-stop Mumbai-Munich and two additional Kolkata-Frankfurt flights from May 3, 2008.
Operated with an Airbus A340-300, the flights will complement Lufthansa’s existing daily service between Mumbai and Frankfurt. Convenient connections to onward destinations in Europe, US and Canada will be synchronised from Munich to provide passengers from India with seamless travel.
Lufthansa will also boost the current services between Kolkata and Frankfurt from three to five flights a week, starting on 3rd June by adding flights on Wednesday and Sunday. Lufthansa operates the route to Kolkata with an Airbus A330-300, offering a total of 221 seats.
“India is increasingly gaining in importance as a strategic growth market. That is why Lufthansa has steadily expanded its flight services to the country in recent years. We have also customised our services for the convenience of our Indian passengers. The enhanced network will offer greater flexibility and choice to our customers as well as reinforce our position as the European market leader,” said Werner Heesen, Director South Asia, Lufthansa.
With the addition of these flights, Lufthansa will offer 50 flights per week from India via six gateways, enhancing flight connectivity for passengers. Together with its partner SWISS, Lufthansa will offer 64 flights a week from India to Europe via its three efficient hubs – Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich.
Special fares for flights to the US are currently available for travel until 30 June 2008. Fares from Mumbai start from 33,000 INR and from Kolkata start from 35,000 INR for flights, subject to availability. Miles & More members can accumulate miles on these flights.
