OnMobile, a company incubated by global IT giant Infosys Technologies and India's largest telecom Value Added Services (VAS) provider, has acquired France-based personal data management software company Voxmobili. However, the acquisition amount was not disclosed.
A definitive agreement has been signed between the two companies and integration planning will start shortly.
The takeover will enable the company to adds blue chip customer base in Europe and Americas including Orange, France Telecom, T-Mobile and Vodafone. This would also strengthen OnMobile's position in the global telecom VAS industry.
Voxmobili was founded in 2000 by two French entrepreneurs - Eric Viellevigne and Nicolas Frattaroli - and funded by European venture capital firms.
The company has around 45 employees with operations in Europe, North America, Middle East, Australia and Eastern Europe.
Voxmobili's core products center around synchronised address book and advanced phone backup wherein cell phone users can backup all their personal data including calendar and contacts onto a secure network-based server, and mobile paparazzi wherein cell phone users can publish information, photographs and videos directly from their phones to website and mobile sites.
The company has over 21 platforms deployed worldwide and has issued over 20 million licenses for their products globally.
