Aptech has forayed in to hardware and networking training, with the launch of a new brand 'N-Power'. The IT education major, which hitherto was concentrating on software education, is launching a range of certificate courses after sensing an immense potential of the sesectors.
The company is also planning to set up 50 centres in the country by December 2007, even has it has tied up with with Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) to offer these courses. Aptech intends to take the N-Power brand international by January 2008.According to Pramod Khera CEO and Managing Director of Aptech, "Opportunities in hardware and networking are emerging now with IT being the buzzword for all industries. Realising this potential, we have decided to set up the N-Power Brand, with centres across the country and abroad. Our alliance with a prestigious association like CompTIA will definitely add value to our offering, which has been created with inputs from the industry."
Earlier, Aptech had conducted hardware and networking programmes at 6 pilot centres across the country. The company, in association with CompTIA, had also organised seminars on opportunities in hardware and networking at select metros.
According to a study by the Manufacturers' Association for IT (MAIT), the manpower requirement for hardware and networking will increase to 2 million by the year 2008.The N-Power suite of courses include a Certificate of Accomplishment in Networking and Server+, Certificate of Accomplishment in Networking and Security+ and Certificate of Accomplishment in System Engineering. Each course has core and elective subjects, with opportunities for CompTIA certification. The duration of each of these courses is about 9 months.
The requirement for Hardware and Networking professionals, which cuts across industries, is massive in the banking and financial Services, manufacturing, small and medium enterprises, education, retail and BPO. Some of the roles available to a qualified professional are PC support specialist, hardware engineer, network engineer or systems engineer.
