IndiGo inducts 15th Airbus A320 and commences daily flights from Mumbai-Chennai and Kolkata

IndiGo, the low-fare domestic airline has taken delivery of its 15th brand new Airbus A320 aircraft from Airbus in Toulouse, France and has started operating this aircraft to commence additional daily flights from Mumbai to Chennai and Mumbai to Kolkata and also return on the same route January 4th onwards.

Speaking on the additional daily services from Mumbai, Mr. Bruce Ashby, President and CEO of IndiGo said, “We are pleased to announce these new nonstop flights to Chennai and Kolkata, which will provide our customers with additional flexibility when planning their travel on IndiGo”.

With its 15th aircraft, the airline now operates 108 daily flights connecting 16 destinations, including Agartala, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Vadodara. IndiGo plans to serve approximately 30 Indian cities by 2010, with a fleet of approximately 40 A320s.
