BIG 92.7 FM Kolkata won the Srijan Samman GOLD in the radio spot category. Srijan Samman is the biggest media event for Bangla Advertising awarded by Sambad Pratidin, leading Bengali daily. Contenders for this very prestigious award were creative agencies in India and Bangladesh.
This was the first year of BIG 92.7FM's participation and it was the only 'non-agency' to win a creative award at the gathering, not to mention that it was the only radio station to win the award. BIG 92.7FM was nominated for two creative and won the gold for one of them. The award winning radio interstitial was created on the occasion of Sharukh Khan's Birthday. It was a fitting tribute to King Khan on his birthday from BIG 92.7 FM Kolkata --an interstitial with a transcription of his Chart busters.
Speaking on the occasion BIG 92.7 FM Kolkata Station Head Bodhayan Roychaudhury said, "This is our first year of participation and our talented young team has made us proud by being the only radio station to win this award."
Meanwhile, BIG 92.7 FM has flagged off a talent hunt in Kanpur which is aimed to crown the whiz-kid of Kanpur. BIG 92.7 FM, Kanpur in partnership with the club Laynya Jaycees is jointly doing the activity to crown the whiz-kid of the city. BIG Child Genius is a talent show in which 1200 students from more than 30 prominent schools will fight for the title of mastermind kid of the city.
BIG Child Genius is open for the students from standard 5th to 8th. The two phase activity which kicked off on September 2 was done with much style, where there was an initial screening and a general IQ and aptitude test. Selected candidates will move on to the second round which will be a live quiz scheduled on September 9, conducted by BIG 92.7 FM Kanpur's favorite breakfast jock RJ Peeyush.
The winners of the talent hunt stand to win loads of gift hampers of educative stuff like encyclopedia CDs and free personality development classes. Proceeds of the contest will be donated to a charity institute, helping kids who need the funds to get a decent education. The aim of this talent hunt is to induce kids' overall development – both on the education front and otherwise. Healthy competition is sure to make kids want to better their knowledge.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Rehaan Khan, Cluster Head - UP, BIG 92.7 FM, said, "This activity lives up to our brand-line Suno Sunao, Life Banao! This activity will promote education in the city in two ways. Firstly, participation will endeavor kids to get back to books and secondly funds raised from this activity will be distributed to a charity school for the studies of poor and under privileged kids."
