Global enabler of communications services Nokia Siemens Networks has named Ashish Chowdhary head of the company's global managed services business unit. Prior to this, he was the company's India and Nepal sub-region head.
The appointment is aimed at accelerating the growth of Nokia Siemens Networks in the Indian and global managed services market.
Chowdhary will be based in India, and will report to Rajeev Suri, global head of Services.
The appointment of Chowdhary is designed to accelerate the growth of Nokia Siemens Networks in this key focus area, and will build on the success of the company in the Indian market and around the world in managed services.
Michael Kuehner, the present head Japan and Korea, Nokia Siemens Networks, will take over as the new head of India and Nepal Subregion. Kuehner has been instrumental in successful integration of Nokia Siemens Networks in Japan and Korea.
He is an experienced leader with a strong track record in growing businesses. He combines visionary qualities with strong business management skills, encourages unconventional approaches and has a reputation as a dedicated and assertive leader in diverse cultural environments.

Chowdhary joined Nokia in December 2003 as Country Head, India, Nokia Networks. He was responsible for all Nokia Networks operations in India and drove the development of Nokia Networks' significant presence in the fast growing Indian telecoms market.
Prior to joining Nokia, Chowdhary was Senior Director and Vice President for Enterprise Business with Hughes Network Systems, USA and Hughes Escorts Communications Ltd, India, respectively.
Nokia Siemens Networks is one of the largest providers in this market with more than 160 combined managed services contracts worldwide, serving over 130 million subscribers globally. It has over 20,000 professionals, serving 300 fixed and 300 mobile customers in 150 countries around the world.
Managed services is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a customer's network, as well as providing hosting solutions for service lifecycle management. |
